Berkeley County deserves a real choice

Samuel Price is running
so Berkeley County gets
a real race.

He is a first-time candidate, a Berkeley County Democrat, and the kind of person who thinks public office still means showing up, speaking plainly, and calling people back.

  • Growth that pays for roads, drainage, and the basics before residents eat the cost
  • Public schools, teachers, and technical training that families can actually rely on
  • A representative who treats the district like a job, not a safe seat

Waterfront, just before dark. Berkeley County on his mind.

This race started with a simple problem.

The incumbent was heading toward another cycle without a serious challenge. Samuel decided that was not good enough for Berkeley County. If voters are asked to live with rapid growth, higher costs, crowded roads, and decisions made in Columbia, they deserve more than an empty line on the ballot.

He is not a career politician. He has not spent years climbing a party ladder. He stepped in because somebody needed to do the work, make the case, and give this district a Democrat who will actually compete for it.

Grounded priorities for a fast-growing county.

01

Growth that makes sense

Berkeley County is growing quickly. The state should help communities keep up with roads, drainage, utilities, and emergency response instead of pretending growth pays for itself.

02

Schools that actually support kids

Samuel wants stronger funding for public schools, better pay for teachers without gimmicky merit-pay schemes, and the basic classroom tools educators should not have to beg for every year. If South Carolina wants better reading levels, stronger STEM retention, and real career preparation, it has to treat education like a priority instead of a slogan.

03

Healthcare close to home

Families should not have to drive all over the region to get routine care, mental health support, or timely appointments. State government can help close those gaps if it chooses to.

04

Affordable water, energy, and household basics

Water should not feel like a luxury bill, and families should be able to lower household costs through practical energy improvements, stronger local infrastructure, and state policy that stops shifting basic utility pressure onto residents.

05

A representative who answers people

A state representative should hold local events, return messages, and tell constituents how votes affect their lives. That sounds obvious. It should still be said.

No polished script. No consultant biography.

Samuel Price is running as a Democrat for State House in Berkeley County because local voters deserve someone who actually sounds like he lives here.

He has not held office before. That is a problem if you want someone polished into saying nothing. It helps if you want someone willing to learn fast, put in the hours, and call out complacency when he sees it.

This campaign is staying lean on purpose. Less consultant gloss. More field work, local outreach, and direct contact with voters.

A local campaign with volunteer muscle and a digital operation that stays useful.

Neighborhood-first outreach

Porch meetups, voter contact, local issue briefings, and a campaign that treats Berkeley County like a place worth organizing year-round.

Education, parks, and useful public space

Samuel wants schools, parks, museums, and public spaces to do more actual work for families, including educational programs that keep kids engaged with the world around them and help make this a place people want to stay.

Lean digital discipline

Fast response, steady publishing, clear email asks, and a campaign site people can actually use without a pile of wasted spend.

People do not miss elections because they changed their mind. They miss them because they never locked in a plan.

Tell us how you expect to vote, when you want a reminder, and who might go with you. That gives the campaign a real turnout map instead of a pile of good intentions.
